How should I start the beginning of my book report?

I’m writing a book report on the book “Dreamland” by Sarah Dessen.
My book reports always turn out great, I just have problems starting them off.
The first paragraph has to be about the turning point of the book, and I have to write it in a way that everyone else who reads it will understand what happened in the book.
I just need a topic sentence, can you help me out?
